“Girls want a Superman, but they walk past a Clark Kent every day”

You fuckin CLOWNS think you’re a CLARK KENT? Not on my fuckin watch. You dumb, headass motherfuckers are barely a Guy Gardner and you think you’re a CLARK KENT? The amount of disrespect is unreal.

Listen here, wannabes: My boi Clark is 240 lbs of PURE KANSAS BEEF trained from a young age by Ma Kent to Love and Respect women as the Intelligent, Independent beings they are.  He is shy rambling about tractors and casually moving the copy machine when my pen falls behind it and he would NEVER demand I be sexually or romantically interested just because he’s nice.

Y’all ain’t Clark Kent.

So since Man of Steel is broad canon to Earth-24, key events like Zod’s message and the Battle of Metropolis happen. And while 24!Bruce is at the beginning of his career and nearly 20 years younger than DCEU!Bruce and therefore in a much better place to process it all, it still shakes him up pretty bad. He’s probably at home when Zod’s message is broadcast, having to comfort a 12/13 year old Dick and tell him everything’s going to be fine when aliens have literally just threatened the Earth. He still charges blindly into the destruction of Metropolis, still pulls employees and little girls out of the rubble. And if he doesn’t look up at the sky with quiet rage, it’s at least trepidation.

He still plans on confronting Superman and still becomes a bit obsessed, though in a far less preparing-to-fucking-murder-him way and a more constantly-reviewing-video-footage-on-dozens-of-monitors-at-once way. To the point that Dick refers to it as “the Superman shrine” and half-jokingly questions the nature of Bruce’s fixation.

For Clark’s part, he’s been researching various urban legends and rumors of individuals with special abilities for years in an attempt to find others like him and has sporadically followed Batman’s budding career. Bruce has only very recently started shedding his “urban legend” status, and Clark’s not entirely sure if “the bat-man” isn’t some kind of mothman-like local cryptid. He entertains vague fantasies of flying by Gotham some night and making a monster buddy.

reblog, don’t repost

Oh Billy, you look so small right there…

Superman’s sheer anger over Billy Batson’s situation is a sight to behold. Batman and Robin get away with it because he knows it’s the world’s best internship and that Bruce is willing to put out all the stops to protect him. But Billy? He doesn’t have anyone looking out for him. And that pisses off Superman more than anything.

Seriously, Clark’s face here

He is ready to kick the ass of whoever put this boy in this situation SO HARD

Next page he really lets the Wizard Shazam have it.

Shit, son. I might have to buy this book for those last two panels alone.

When Superman is written well he is an amazing goddamned character.

these few pages are some of my favourite in comic book history. So good. For anyone wondering what the next few pages look like, here you go:

This is a bigger deal than some of you might think, because Superman is one of the heroes in the DC Universe who keeps his secret identity pretty damn secret, because as probably the most powerful and influential person on earth, a lot of people do not wish him well - and would jump at the chance to hold people dear to him as leverage.

Yet, he trusts this poor, scared little kid. To comfort him, and entrust him with his biggest secret - just as Billy did for him.

Superman is just really important, ok?

this for people to truly understand superman

…. :’<

If I don’t reblog this assume I’m dead. This is top quality Superman

A comic about the spectrum of responses to stress - we talk alot about the more extreme ends of this and trauma, but the more subtle and every day responses can be harder to spot. if we can understand our own and other’s responses better, problems Are easier to confront and blaming is less likely to happen :) hope it’s helpful!!
